31th july 2010 Finally waves, a quickie with 4.0m2

Day 10 Saterday 31th of july 2010
How fun is that, my babydaughter was awake barely 50 minutes later then when we finished clubbing and finally were laying in bed. No sleep for today I guess. I was a wreck, layed at the pool in the morning with my friend Robin, Jente and my family. Although... it was finally really windy! hmms In the late afternoon we went for a quickie. YES. Rigged the P7 sado 4.0m2 really over the max MAX, flat as possible and had a blast with my SOS 68!!! i love sailing small sizes. Robin went for his 3.7m2 and pulled his forward into catapults. There were moments enough that 3.3m2 could work. Only in the shorebreak it was to minimal. We had both a great time on the water.
As my wife enjoyed the Pacha last night that much, eh..this meant for me another night of clubbing. That night we ended up in the Ministry of sound, Escape and went to several others. But they all didn’t coope with the Pacha. 3 surfdays in a row now and 2 nights of no sleep..But 2morrow its really going to be windy uuh ooh...

30th july 2010 brandnew Goya Quad Pro 92L 2011

Day 9, Friday 30th of july 2010. Another 5.0 day @ Pozo Izquerdo.

As my wife gave us permission to go haha, we were up for some windsurfing again, I rented for another day a bigsized board. At the Cutre surfshop, a brandnew Goya Quad pro 2011 92L just came out of the box.

Guess which board i picked for todays session? After a commercial talk about cracks, damages and what you have to pay if you demolish the board or fins. Yeah yeah, i told the guy I heard that one allready yesterday and took this toy out for a spin. I could compare it with my own SOS 92L as it has the same volume which is nice. Okay, first lap...felt okay, kinda sticky. On my way back the footstrap went loose. pfff. had to walk back to the Cutre shop and tightned it again. 2nd try...the turns went good. but for some reason it was not the right shape for me. It felt like it was glued on the water. I like board more loose on the water. After a few jumps and table tops, even did a minimal backloop one of my dakine harnessline broke. Again to the surfshop Cutre to buy me another pair or orange pozo lines :P. Later on the day, the wind suddenly dropped totally, ofcourse while i was quite far out there, landed at the rocks outside the bay. yikes. Tried my best to not damage the board in the shorebreak and its rocks. theyre dang slippery. We didnt make 'action'pictures today. just cruising. Robin as he is a lightweight sailor, was using his biggest sail, which is 4.7m2 and his JP rww 68L.

In the evening, me and my wife went to Playa des ingles. We went clubbing, and ended up in the club, The PACHA. Awesome clubbing there, showed my dancemoves and got home around 6.00 am.

Day 8 29th july 2010 Fanatic Quad 2011 86L - @ Pozo

Had a blast today, rented for these conditions a new Fanatic Quad 2011 86.

that combined with my 5.0m2 p7 sado

Easy sailing

---------------------------

See below. pulled out one of my table tops.

How fun is that! about 30 degrees, surfing in my boardshorts.

Can't be better then this! (hmm.. bigger waves perhaps)

Day 7 28th july 2010 Crocodile parc

Today we went with the kids to the crocodile park.

petting crocs

Took a swim at the pool, did a quick visit at pozo izquerdo.

They were sailing with sails 4.2 to 5.0m2. It seemed once again to minimal for me. There were like none waves. Just lake surfing I guess.

As I had still the stuck mast issue which I need for my 5.0m2 I didn’t went out. Swimming with the kids and ate at a restaurant. Later on the evening we tried everything to get the mast into 2 pieces. With the rental car and formylline rope we tried to get it loose. The rope broke several times trying. As we seem to have minimal days for the rest of our period here, I just have to leave the SOS 68 for what it is, and am going to rent for a few days a Quad Quatro 85L 2010. and sail it with my 5.0m2. Tommorow it should be okay for 5.0m2, for Friday and saterday probably 4.5 or smaller?

27 july 2010 Shopping with the wife ;o)

Went of shopping today with my wife and babydaughter at the shopping center. I left my son with robin and his son. They went swimming at the pool

and shooted some pool aswell.

The people from Cutre, tried one more time with 12 people pulling at the mast, so it will get perhaps in 2 normal pieces again. Ünfortunately that didn’t worked out either. They gave me the advise to saw the top into pieces. Pffff. I took the mast back to the apartment.

It was once again a minimal pozo day, it was good for 5.0m2 but minimal waves. Didn’t went out.

dinsdag 27 juli 2010

26th july 2010 Aqualand.

To make it up to my wife and the kids. We went to Aqualand.

Lots of glides and pools out there.

Fun place to be with the family. But don’t forget to bring a fat wallet.
The tornadoslide I enjoyed most.

a bit of sightseeing aswell, heard that wally the whale was also in aqualand.

Ate dinner down below at the restaurant from the apartment but that didn’t got any Michelin stars. Yikes

Pozo at night

25th of july 2010. sailsize 3.7 upto 4.5m2 and 11 guys pulling the mast

Off to Pozo Izquerdo.

At the appartment Monte feliz, @Bahia feliz it wasn’t blowing at all, but after checking out the webcam at the wifi area, 7 kilometres down the highway there should be enough wind for some action. Once we arrived, I could rig the 4.0m2 for the second time.

Robin went for his smallest sail north zeta 3.7m2 and his JP real world wave 68L.

He had in the beginning problems with the slippery rocks and shorebreak

they were on the look out too!

So strange its always blowing like insane at pozo, but a few miles ahead there is like no wind at all. Although it was less windy then 2 days ago.
I was lacking power bits with the 4.0 but robin enjoyed sailing his low end rigged 3.7m2. I changed later on the day to 4.5m2 which was better, but still not big enough.

the wind was dropping bits. The waves were quite minimal.

This would be a good day for me, to have a 85L board instead of 68. Not the pozo wind I hoped for.

small jumps

Robin was not the only cameraman around

dropping winds..

My wife and kids came around for a meet and greet/kiss

and went back to the swimmingpool from the apartment. It was to windy at pozo for them!

I tried also the 68 JP real world wave 2008 from robin, it felt like it had more volume then my sos 68 for sure. Now I had the chance to compare them on the same day, with the same sail and wind conditions. Im so sure now that my SOS 68L have way less volume then my former real world wave 69L from 2007. I think the sos 68 actually has about 63L.

Here robin with the 3.7 on his JP rww68 and me with the 4.5m2 on the same board

In the early evening when rigged off, my brand new P7 srdm 4.00m2 got stuck in one piece.
Robin and I tried everything to get it loose.with 2 booms twisting, but no result. A dutch guy came around to help pulling and twisting. Didn’t work out either. 10 minutes later… 5 more guys were helping with pulling… no result.. and we end up with a total of 11 guys pulling the same srdm P7 mast. Result? STILL in one piece.. Must be some kind of record! We even tried oil etc.. It wont get back in the plane like this. Bummer though. I left the mast at the CUTRE surfshop, hopefully they have a mindblowing idea to get it once again in 2 normal pieces. I heard them talking about boiling water.. We ll just have to wait and see.
Way to late we arrived home, quickly brought the kids to bed and had a laugh afterwards.
