Point-7 AC1 LTDII Rig session @ home

Merry Xmass to all and a HAppy windy Newyear!!!
As it's been snowing outside, freezing and full on winter...

(above my crib in the snow. the middle one)

I have recieved the last several weeks a set AC1's ltdII 2009, last week i rigged one of the sails, my 6.7m2 AC1 for the 1st time. Inside the livingroom again. Because outside i was freezing my ..... off !!! ;o)

Looks good dont they!?

Right now i gatherd 3x P7 AC1's 2009 in size 6.7m2, 7.2m2 and 7.7m2.

The AC1 LTDII 7.7m2 above. This sail is going to be used on my Fanatic Falcon 105, for bits of cruising down the lake.

Perhaps in the near future, by high winds, i would like to have a size AC1 ltdII 6.2 m2 to make this whole P7 set complete. This 6.2 would be a replacement for my Naish Stealth proto 6.0m2. Havent found a 6.2m2 yet.

The Naish stealth proto 2008, see above is still my PR- speed sail so far.
Hopefully the black machines will give me new Pr's in 2010 at my local speedspot Strand Horst! Time will tell.

Wijk aan Zee- Mellow on Yellow (SOS 92) 3 december 2009

Last weekend it was windy once again, but unfortunately missed out on saterdays action, because i had still tuns of chores left to do in the house. Plus i had to be home on time, cuz 'sinterklaas -eve' couldnt be missed. My wife would of killed me :P. Me being home on time on a windy day, thats mostly not an option. So i missed out on saterday. Sunday i had more chances for a fun session. As the wind was less in the early morning, i only took my SOS 92 rocket with me and a 5.0/5.4/6.6m2 and went off to Wijk.

Finally standing on the dunes, there was not much action. Shallow waves. But the wind was nicely sideshore. I rigged up the P7 Sado 5.4m2 for the first time and walked the pad trough the dunes.

As i had not rigged the 5.4m2 before, brandnew sail. I noticed when i arrived by the coastline, my masttop didn't fit in the sailtop. Argh. Anyways i rigged it up anyway, and decided not to go sail far out, not do crazy things, as i didnt want my masttop to break out the top of the sail. I had some waverides, nice off the tops and good snappy turns. Not much later the wind was getting harder then expected and didnt had control anymore trough my waverides. I changed my rig to 5.0m2, which was a better choice.

A impression picture below how it was like. Shallow waves but fun to be ripping on.

Sailed a few more hours and called it for today, as darkness came in.
A mellow session on my yellow SOS 92. The Point-7 sado 5.4 worked out just fine on my big board. Hopefully next time i can use my 5.4m2 bits longer.

28 november 2009 groundswell and 7-8 beaufort. Wijk is Rocking again

As it was going to be windy again this weekend, I once again went to Wijk aan Zee. This november month, its been windy for several weeks in a row, that combined with decent temperatures. I've heard on the news, it was one of the most warm november month since the last decade. For today quite big waves were expected, ground swell coming in and windswell. Didnt wanna miss out any of it, so i filled my car with 3 waveboards, 5 wavesails, and a bunch of rdm's. In the early morning the waves were flat still, from what ive seen on the wijk aan zee-webcam, with a very offshore winddirection.

Around 11 o'clock the wind changed to a more sideshore direction, the wind was rising hard and i went off to Wijk. For me its a one hour drive every single time. But again it was worth it. As i arrived, had a bit of doubts which sail to rig on, as the wind didnt reached its peak yet.

I choose my sado 4.5m2 which seem to be a good choice. A 5.0m2 would of been to much, and a 4.0m2 would of been to minimal at times but possible too. My friends

Robin rigged on a 4.2, and so did Martijn 'The Man', only he's 30k heavier, but it worked out for both. I guess for Robin the wind was a bit much at times. ;o)
My dad came around for the pictures, and several other cameramen and photographers were present.
Here im going for a high jump

Wijk aan Zee was going OFF with SIDE TO SIDEOFF conditions 22th-Nov.

It's been a while, that I've been on the water but last sunday the 22th of november i just didnt wanted to miss out on this one.
The forecast was great. Side to sideoff conditions with loads of wind.

During the drive towards Wijk the wind was around 6 to 7 beaufort, with a little peak of 9 beaufort. The sun came in and the wind dropped when i arrived. I decided to rig on a 5.0 m2 Sado 2010 with my SOS 82.

A save combo as i didnt knew what the wind was going to do. The Parking was way crowded, but got lucky to park next to The Lamp at the entrance of the dunes.

Bought a P7 rdm mast from the Lamp and rigged up my set.
The Lamp was going off today as always. I heard from him he changed today 4 time his rig? everything the wrong choice of sailsize. Im glad id sticked to the 5.0m2 all day. Saved me a lot of unnescaserry walking up and down the hills.

My dad came by today to shoot some pictures. Ive taken a few pictures aswell myself.

My surfmates Torben and Martijn also at the spot.
The funny thing was, all sailing POINT-7.

Torben had a 'test'P7 sado 4.7 m2 from zuidwest6.nl

and Martijn rigged up his good old sado 4.7 2009

There was unfortunately a lot of action moments missed on camera today, but a few nice close shots were taken

At the least, wanted to mention that it was a great day to be on the water again. Í've had a few really nice waverides on the bigger waves from today. Hoped that one of them was spotted on camera but unfortunately they were not. Felt great to have big spray at the topturn.
For now the SOS VS P7 worked out great. Hopefully more bigger and better days to come soon!

Rig sessions Point-7 SADO 2010 3.3-4.0m2

I've been sick for a while, had probably the wellknown Mex.flu. But finally better now, and ready to hit some waves ASAP! I had last week some time left to rig some Sado's 2010 at home, check them out.
