Team Boardkings @Wijk aan zee 18-07-2012

Wijki it is!
As i broke my SOS rocketfish Tri 82L waveboard 2 days ago at scheveningen.. thats why i tried today my SOS RF68 (normally my 8+beaufort-board)combined with a sado 2g 4.5m2.
Sailsize 4.5m2 was quite good.
Only the 68L volume was to minimal. to much of a submarine today. I have been washed to many times cause of that. i did had some rides and high jumps and a few tabletops.. but in general i was lacking on volume big times.
I need a 80+L board ASAP! The waves were pretty high today which i LIKE. :-) Members from team boardkings were present aswell!
always a good laugh with those surf junky's!
well it was fun to be out there again.. All smiles :o))

Wavesesh@ Scheveningen beach 16th july 2012

Afterwork session. as a few teammembers from Boardkings were heading out to Scheveningen, decided to take a look over there. Havent been windsurfing there before, only heard wild stories about it :-)
Quite a drive though, more then an hour on my way. Free parking area was full (of windsurfers) so parked my car right there at the beach. The conditions looked nice, but man o man so crowded! People were all sailing together in the same little area. The level out there was quite high, i saw loads of pushloops and other crazy stuff around me. Cool! I never had a crash sailing into another wavesailor before, but today i had a close call. As i was riding on a wave, going down from a lip to the bottom all of a sudden a sailor came up. he and i both bailed out the wrong direction, it was going to be a crash for sure. We both stepped off before our boards were smashing each other. Straight away both getting washed several times. i have mixed feelings about this spot. short steep waves in front of the breaks, not much space between them. Further on the back no waves, to crowded aswell. I seriously think Wijk aan zee is a much better spot, bigger and longer waves. And even in the back good waves aswell. Also crowded but enough space for everyone.
I've been using the Rocketfish82 and a P7 Sado 2g 4.5m2 as it was quite windy! I didnt had any smaller sails with me, as i was moreless surprised of todays windspeed. some peoplewere sailing 3.7/4.0 and 4.2. Rigging up a 4.5m2 was quite full powered up.
Aslong it took because after a few jumps/landings i started to notice there was something wrong. I guess i broke my board. Two long cracks on the bottum along the sides. the bottomlayer came loose from the core/foam. The bottom was now like a trampoline, a sort of balloon filled with air. :-( My teambuddy from Boardkings Peter van G, was in the newspaper.. (with the quatro ls84 2013) doesnt look like hawaii doenst it ;)

WIJKI again! 11th july 2012

Finally a bit of surfing again!
Its been a 2 months or so that i have been wavesailing at wijk aan zee.
The conditions were like very choppy, small messy waves, to much onshore, the wind was on and off al the time. Definately wijkiki not at its best.
But hey. I have been planing again, although i did sailed a bit rusty. :-) i tried a backy and a tabletop and that would be it.
My shizzle wasnt tuned correctly either. To bad, next time ill change some details (dakine contours were to big ( my feet fell out of the straps many times) harneslines to long, baseplate moved al the way forward in the box and it took a bit long before i noticed that, the catapults should of ring a bell lol ;o)
Sailed the 5.4m2 and my LS95.
Overall it was a good choice/setup for todays session.

It was for sure nice to see the whole boardkings (wave)team @wijk!!! (Bart,Peter,Jacco and Erik)

Awesome looking board you got there @Petervg! Quatro quad Ls84 2013.
To bad you could only test the float of the board. Im sure that board will rock when it gets windy.
@ErikH, dude stop speedsurfing at your local speedspot Muiderberg all the time! Im continuesly sailing in your slipstream ;-)

Bring on the better conditions asap!
